Title:
Hoeh, Herman L. (Explanation of Dates cited..., dated 9 Oct 1998)
Description:
This document provides some insight into the date of the Exodus by Dr. Herman L. Hoeh. Dr. Germano holds that Dr. Hoeh's relative chronology appears correct but his benchmark date of 69 AD for an absolute chronology is off by one year. The  Romans burned the Jerusalem Temple on Loos 10 (Macedonian calendar). In 70 AD, not 69 (a year off), Loos 10 = Ab 9.  Dr. Hoeh placed the Exodus from Egypt in 1447 BC. He placed the dedication of the Second Temple in 516. He places the ten Jubilee periods as 49 years each for a total of 490 years. This period is understood by some to match a literal fulfillment of the 70 weeks prophecy of 490 years (Daniel 9:24; Jeremiah 25:11-12) wherein the Second temple dedication ushered in a new age of peace and the consecration of the holy place even though it did not last.
